We completed two projects using Sasen Homes for all aspects of the job.

One was a restoration of the exterior of our 1899 heritage house and the other, an addition to the back of the house to put in a new, larger kitchen, laundry room and bathroom.

We are very pleased with the results of both projects. The projects were managed extremely well. The various stages of the work were scheduled so that there were few delays nor were we ever overwhelmed with subcontractors all showing up at once. Estimates for both cost and time to completion were generally accurate. Any problems and unforeseen issues were dealt with quickly and effectively.

The Sasen Home carpenters were very skilled, professional and courteous. The quality of their work was excellent, particularly in the areas of restoration.   Matthew was easy to communicate with, returning calls promptly and providing site visits whenever we felt it would be useful.

We would recommend Sasen Homes to anyone considering doing these types of projects.

We have been do-it-yourselfers all our lives and have had bad experiences.  We were very impressed with Sasen Homes’ first class quality workmanship.   Matthew Senf and his team treated us with respect and we felt our concerns were dealt with openly and honestly.

They had solid, achievable ideas, and planning was a gratifying process. It is truly comforting to be able to communicate with a contractor in a meaningful way and feel that he listens and understands, and refrains from pressuring you to do more than you want. The entire process was a very pleasant experience and we felt our money was well spent. We would not hesitate to call on Sasen Homes for any future renovation needs.

After speaking with several homes and renovation companies and seeing homes they had renovated in our area, we decided on Sasen Homes to do our project.

Matthew came to our house and we liked him and his values immediately. It turned out to be a very good decision as we are extremely happy with the results.   The project manager was excellent. I hired Matthew Senf and the Sasen Homes team to work with me on the home renovation.   I had a relatively fertile imagination, so it was a challenging job.  

Here are a few highlights that might be interesting to others looking to hire a contractor:

1. Trust. I found Matthew Senf, his employees and sub-trades to be entirely trustworthy. They did what they promised. They kept me informed and found solutions, without fail.

2. Quality. These guys do good work. Finishing is where it counts in my view. One example is Peter’s elegant surgery on prebuilt units to fit around plumbing, and into available space. I use these components every day and am so grateful that they look great and work beautifully. Their encouragement helped me accept other solutions for my space.

3. Humour. The Sasen Homes team all shared a lovely sense of humour knowing that renovations can be stressful for clients.  They gave me confidence as we were all working toward the same goals.

Sasen Homes has been our contractor for all our substantial home renovation projects – both interior and exterior – everything from design, permit, and completion.

From the beginning, Sasen Homes were upfront in its estimate, making us aware of potential changes given the many unknowns involved in our renovations. When we encountered unforeseen circumstances, we worked through them as a team, always to arrive at a satisfactory solution.

Sasen Homes provided multiple options and honest opinions.  They paid attention to the small details; accommodated our schedule as we had to entertain house guests in the midst of the upgrades.

They went out of their way to even help carry groceries up to our steep, snowy driveway since our garage was under renovation as well.  

We were pleasantly surprised at how little stress it was involved in our lives.
