We are an award winning, lower mainland Design/Build, Residential Renovation and Custom Home Build company looking for a positive and experienced carpenter to join our team. The perfect candidate will be a qualified Red Seal journeyman who is confident in their skills and wanting to expand them. This person will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a journeyman working specifically in renovation and custom home build. This person will thrive in a positive, professional company culture and is talented at communicating and relating to the clients. You will have knowledge of BC Building codes and various sub trades, as well as the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain open communication at all times. You will have the advanced ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and be able to creatively problem solve.

The expectation is that you are a Canadian citizen residing in BC for at least one year, that you have a driver’s license and a reliable, presentable vehicle (preferably a truck) and full set of tools.

You must be able to oversee all aspects of midsize to large residential renovation and new build projects from excavation through forming and concrete pouring to framing, all service aspects and all specifics of finishing both interior and exterior.Our compensation rate is very competitive and we offer a generous health and dental benefits package, fuel and phone allowances as well as other incentives for the right candidate.

Role: Responsible for all technical aspects of residential renovation and new build projects

Responsibilities:

• Performing high-quality residential renovation and custom home build carpentry work.
• Must be able to oversee all aspects of midsize to large residential renovation projects from excavation through forming and concrete pouring to framing, all service aspects and all specifics of finishing both interior and exterior. You must be able to read architectural drawings precisely
• Coordinating all on-site construction activity and scheduling.
• Running the on-site, technical staff effectively, safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for all duties of Site Safety Officer.
• Responsible for all material acquisition, storage and installation
• Coordinate all sub-trades
• Coordinate all inspections (engineering, municipal inspections, safety)
• Coordinate / communicate with clients on a regular basis
• E-mail updates are part of the SOPs and essential
• Estimation, creation and execution of Extra Work Orders
• Effectively resolving job site issues
